Windows 95 enables you to launch windows programs from a DOS session. With DCC you can use this feature by creating associations in order to link extensions to windows-based programs. It is possible to launch PIF or LNK files directly from DCC. For example, AVI files can be linked to Window's media player. 7

//00 fast, convenient directory change with SCD
Change directories with DCC's //F9Smart Change Directory//00 even to other drives. By using a similarity algorithm, DCC tries to find the nearest match to your data entry. Wildcards may be used as well to increase the search range.
For example, use //07CD WIND//00 to change from the current directory to //1FC:\WINDOWS//00. Or you may enter //07CD WIN* <ENTER>//00 in order to bring up a selection list including all directories starting with //07WIN//00. &

//00 Selection window for choosing files over
different directories (Ctrl-W)
Files can be selected in a file window as usual.
Simultaneously these files are listed in a selection window,
from where they may be copied, moved or deleted in one go.
//3E
//00 The result of a file search may be put in a selection window
as well.
//3E
//00 During file search more than one wildcard may be used.
Wildcards give you the opportunity to search for familiar file groups
and have to be separated by a semicolon.
It is possible to use up to 20 different wild cards.
Example for a search mask: *.TMP;*.SIK;*.BAK
//3E
//00 Feature "Synchronize directories".
Different directories can now be updated to identical contents.
This is especially useful when using DCC's link function to
keep the data between your PC and your Notebook "up-to-date".
//3E
//00 When copying files from CDROM (only from CDROM!),
the "read-only" attribut is deleted automatically.
- EXE files (currently only 16-bit files are supported)
- PIF files
- Wordstar 3-7
- Works for Dos/Windows up to version 2.0
- Fido-Msg Format
//3E
//00 Microsoft Cabinet files may be displayed and decompressed.
Cabinet files are used by Windows 95's setup routine.
//3E
//00 Multiple file links (associations) are now possible.
for example:
[View]
BMP = PVLITE !.!
BMP = PVIEW !.!
BMP = PAINT !.!
When selecting a file, a selection window with these options will pop up.
The internal viewer will be used automatically when the dialog is closed
with the ESC key.
